The principle of access to official documents
Statskontoret is a Swedish Central Government agency. As such, communications that are sent to us become official documents according to the principle of access to official documents. Personal data received by Statskontoret by e-mail or other channels also become official documents.

Statskontoret is the data controller for all processing of personal data within the scope of Statskontoret activities.

Statskontoret processes personal data within the scope of our agency's activities, and only to the extent this is required in order to perform our duties.
All information that the Swedish Parliament and Government have commissioned Statskontoret to perform are in the public interest. Statskontoret stores your data on file only as long as is necessary, and as long as Statskontoret is legally obligated to do so.
Right to request information
You are entitled to request information regarding your personal data that Statskontoret processes, regardless of whether the data has been collected via our website or in some other way. You have the right to request rectification if you feel that Statskontoret is processing your data incorrectly. You can also request that your data be deleted unless this information must be retained due to other laws or regulations, such as the rules about official documents and archiving
